About our workgroup
Our goal is to find ways to enable and protect members of the immigrant community during these times of hostile anti-immigrant sentiment. When possible we will unite with other organizations that are active toward the same goals and will engage in the following:
Make it clear to the immigrant community that they are safe with us and identify local organizations that can assist both us and them in protecting them from incarceration, deportation or racist behavior.
Learn the most effective pathways to protect those that are immigrants, or simply persons of color, from wrongful ICE activities.
Communicate with local, state and federal agencies by all means available to direct them toward helpful policies for our immigrant community. Communications may include letter writing, public meetings, or rallies and demonstrations.
Members of our group will become trained and knowledgeable about not only the rights of immigrants, but what non-immigrants can do to become better helpers of their needs. Here is our Menu for Activism, check it out, and use the Contact Us form to ask questions or send us a message.
