On Sunday, June 9, bring a sign* and represent EDP at the Sacramento Pride Parade! We are not marching--we are observing, cheering, and supporting the paraders!
The EDP contingent will assemble at 11 am at 1515 10th Street (between O and P Streets).
After the parade there will be a festival with booths, food, and music. They have planned: an interactive exhibit by the CA Children’s Museum, the LGBT Rights Museum, an Arts Pavilion, a games area, a teen hangout area, and a calming area if it all gets too overwhelming!
Getting there:
Parking is free in downtown on Sunday. If you’d prefer to park in a garage, check out ParkingPanda.com or Parkopedia.com to reserve a parking spot.
Carpools: we will have a caravan (of sorts). Those who are willing to drive and have space, and those who wish to ride not drive—meet up at the Missouri Flat Park & Ride (southwest corner of the Hwy 50 and MF intersection) or at the Cambridge Park & Ride in Cameron Park (exit Hwy 50 at Cambridge Road and turn right). Get there early! Schedule:
Depart Missouri Flat: 9:30 am
Depart Cambridge Road: 10:00 am
Public transit: for information about the Sacramento Regional Transit light rail Gold Line, visit: http://www.sacrt.com/schedules/current/routes/R507.htm.
*Regarding signs—it’s been recommended they be small enough to not block the view of the people behind you. Also, those who have more than one useful sign--bring 'em along for others to use.
