1:45 pm at the Roundtable Pizza off Missouri Flat Road if you want to participate in the leafletting and/or delegations at stores.
3 pm at Hwy 50 and Spring Street, near the Shell Station, if you want to participate in the banners, signs and leafletting in this high-visibility location.
Saturday, September 29th, is the International Driscolls' Berries Boycott Day of Action, and our Workers Solidarity Network Workgroup is sponsoring two different actions. The first is a delegation and leafletting at a couple of stores, very briefly, to raise management's awareness of the many problems with Driscolls, including incredibly poor working conditions in San Quintin, Mexico, including the rape of female field workers, wages barely above slave labor, and workers exposed to powerful and toxic chemicals with no safety protections.
Another issue with this "WalMart of Berries" company is environmental pollution, and food safety. A brief training will be given to anyone wanting to be part of a small delegation that will speak to store management while others leaflet outside the store.
A second banner, and sign, rally along Hwy 50 at the Spring St. intersection is planned for those who prefer to engage in a high-visibility, group action.
The WSN Workgroup is counting on your support and we hope to see you at one (or both) of these events!
